For the past few months, WhatsApp has been testing a bottom navigation bar for its Android app. WhatsApp now allows users to move between tabs from the bottom of the screen. The revised UI was well received by users. Some users were upset because WhatsApp removed the option to swipe between tabs, making navigation less simple for those who were used to the old version. This feature will be restored after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.13.9 update from the Google Play Store.

WhatsApp made significant changes to its UI in order to support Material Design 3. WhatsApp recently revamped switches and floating action buttons to adhere to the Material Design 3 requirements. Furthermore, after installing this update, certain users may notice rounded menus that adhere to Material Design 3 principles.
Some lucky beta testers now have access to the feature that allows users to swipe between tabs and rounded menus. More users will be added in the coming weeks.
