iPhones will have UD selfie camera and Face ID 2024

Apple will release the first iPhones with a UD selfie camera and UD Face ID in 2024

When it comes to under-display cameras, we haven’t gotten there yet. The current implementations do not provide adequate image quality and are a far cry from being a viable replacement to the traditional cutout approach to image reconstruction.

Ming-Chi Kuo, on the other hand, believes that Apple is making headway with its development. He claims that Apple will release the first iPhones with a UD selfie camera and UD Face ID in 2024, along with the first iPhones with UD Face ID. Furthermore, the scheduled upgrade serves more as a marketing tool than it does to address actual technology limits.

When it comes to image quality, ultra-wide-angle selfie cameras will always be at a disadvantage when compared to ordinary cameras. Because of the additional layer on top, less light is allowed to enter the sensor. It is for this reason that the ISP and correction algorithms are so important in fighting this effect. We’ll be watching with bated breath to see if Apple has come up with an amazing new technology to counteract this. Unfortunately, we will have to wait almost 17 months before finding out the answer.

However, it is possible that the future phone will include an enhanced selfie camera.
