OnePlus 12 heats up with 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens

President of OnePlus China, today warmed up the image system of the OnePlus 12 mobile phone, stating that it is equipped with “the strongest periscope telephoto lens in its class”.

He claims that the OnePlus 12’s periscope telephoto lens will have 64 megapixels. The periscope is a more sophisticated mobile phone telephoto construction, allowing for “a larger sensor area, a longer focal length, and a more complete and powerful anti-shake capability” in the telephoto camera, which results in vastly improved photographic quality.

The OnePlus 12 teaser said that the company and Sony would be releasing the world’s first high-end picture sensor in the device. Blogger @digitalchatstation claims that the sensor is a Sony LYT-T808 with 50 million pixels and a 1/1.4-inch size. Additionally, the phone will have ultra-wide-angle IMX581 and telephoto OV64B periscope and Hasselblad image joint debugging.

On November 9 at 14:30, OPPO will host the “OnePlus 12 Shenzhen Branch Venue” event in conjunction with the Paris Film Festival. Officials from OnePlus will reveal additional information regarding the new device’s camera at that time.

IT House has previously reported that the OnePlus 12 will have a 2K “Oriental Screen” developed in collaboration with BOE and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The device is rumored to have a 6.82-inch 2K+120Hz LTPO display, an in-built 5400mAh battery, support for both wired and wireless fast charging (100% and 50% respectively), as well as ultra-thin optical fingerprint recognition, USB 3.2, and an X-axis linear motor created by AAC.
