According to WhatsApp, users will now be able to instantly turn a photo into a sticker to spice up their chats or send a meme on occasion.
The sticker feature was first introduced by WhatsApp in 2018. Initially, the company introduced its sticker pack, later allowing third-party sticker pack uploading.
However, until now users had to rely on third-party apps to create their stickers and now the messaging platform is going to provide this capability directly in the app, eliminating the dependency on these apps.
In a blog post, WhatsApp clarified that users will now be able to create stickers within the app instead of picking them up from the gallery and sharing them and that this enhancement will benefit the security of the app’s end-to-end encryption.
According to WhatsApp, this feature is currently being rolled out for iOS users. However, there is no definitive word on whether this feature will be introduced in Android.
