Samsung Exynos 2500 processor makes headlines again

In a recent sequence of tweets, OreXDA stated that Samsung and Google are working together to improve the AI experience on the Galaxy S25 series of smartphones and the NPU performance of the Exynos 2500 CPU.

The source tweeted that the Exynos 2500 SoC might include a G-NPU, an S-NPU, and a brand-new part with the name TPU. In contrast, the Exynos 2400 contains one G-NPU and one S-NPU, while the Exynos 2200 only has one G-NPU in the image.

Early in 2025, Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S25 series. From a market standpoint, Exynos 2500 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipsets are anticipated to be in the portfolio. Samsung is continuously investigating the AI capabilities of the Exynos 2500 processor to improve its competitiveness with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and gain the trust of consumers.

The General Neural Processing Unit, or G-NPU, is made to perform a range of machine learning tasks.
